Agüeyóme, miróme. En los tiempos d'endenantes (de antaño) había personas que tenían la propiedad de «Agüeyar», o faer el mal del güeyu, (hacer el mal del ojo), estos seres eran temidos, respetados y solapadamente odiados en las aldeas, porque su embruxu (embrujo) maléfico no sólo alcanzaba a las personas y en particular a los nenus d'entamu (niños de teta), sino que también tenían la propiedad de poder «Agüeyar» hasta los animales, sin embargo, contra estos endemoniados «Agüeyamientus» o males del «Güeyu» (mal del ojo), existían otros seres queridos y respetados que se llamaban lus Freirus (los Divinos, los Santos), que tenían la propiedad de deshacer los encantamientos o cualquier mal del ojo propiciado en personas o animales. Estos Freirus no eran ricos, o aparentemente no lo demostraban, pues yo he conocido a un par de ellos y la verdad que no se diferenciaban nada de los fatáus de probetayus (muchos pobres), que por aquel entonces por todas las aldeas pedigüeñaban. (Mendigaban). Quiero comprender ahora al analizar desde muy lejos a aquellos magos del desembrujo y de los males del ojo, que eran unos pobres muy singulares llenos de sapiencias de ancestros naturales, y conocedores de las bondades curativas de infinidad de plantas medicinales de las cuales se servían, creo que mucho más que de sus palabras, gesticulaciones y demás haceres misteriosos e indescifrables. Porque detrás de todo tratamiento de desembrujo, ellos solían dejar un maxuxe (compuesto), industriado con una mezcolanza de plantas y grasas de animales, con el cual ordenaban que se tratase al afectado por el moláu del güétchu (mal del ojo), hasta que desapareciese el endemoniado mal que l'enduetbechase, (que lo enmadejáse). Yo recuerdo que en la aldea de mi amo Salustiano, vivía una mujer a la que llamaban la Bruxa (Bruja), y solían decir de ella algunas personas muy superticiosas, que era capaz d'embruxar ou faer el moláu del güetchu, (de embrujar o de hacer el mal del ojo), a toda persona o animal, menos a los guetus prietus (gatos negros). No me olvido que en un principio de llegar yo a la aldea como criaín (criado de Salustiano) poseía yo mucho respeto y no menos miéu (miedo) hacia la Bruxa (bruja), pues temía de que llantara d'enría mín, (plantara encima de mí) alguno de sus endemoniados «agüeyamientus », (moláus de güctchu), por lo tanto yo procuraba no cruzarme con ella jamás, siempre fútchia d'echa m'arganéu de miéu (huía de ella muy lleno de miedo). Cuando Salustiano descubrió en mi esta manifestación de verdadero temor que yo sentía hacia la Bruxa, empezó a convencerme de que todo cuanto se decía de ella, eran verdaderos cuintus de caleya (cuentos callejeros).
